Technical Service Representative

Lawrence Paper Company is a leading manufacturer of corrugated boxes and retail displays. We are currently seeking a Technical Service Representative, a critical role in our company that combines project management with technical competence. This position would be a great fit for a person who has the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a high-speed environment. This role will interact with all functions and levels of the organization.

General Job Overview

Technical Service Representatives, (TSRs), are integral pieces of the front end process that turn customer requests into final production pieces. The ideal candidate will be able to juggle multiple projects and priorities in support of both our Sales and Production teams. Our needs are fast paced and time critical, so we need someone quick on their toes and not afraid to speak their voice.

Key responsibilities include:
• Creating cost estimates of corrugated packaging and displays using internal estimating programs
• Order entry
• Create print and label instructions
• Proof customer supplied artwork to make sure it will work in production
• Coordinate with die shop for any needed cutting dies
• Understanding our machine capabilities and their connection to both estimating and production
• General project management
• Communication with Sales, Customer Service Rep, and Production teams

The ideal candidate will possess the following traits:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Familiarity and comfort with Microsoft Suite of tools
• Good with numbers and fractions
• Attention to detail
• Strong communications skills
• Willing to accept challenges

Forklift Operator

Description
Established in 1882, The Lawrence Paper Company is a leading manufacturer of corrugated boxes and packaging materials. We are currently seeking an experienced forklift operator. Candidates will be expected to move levers or controls that operate forklifts to load, unload, transport, or stack material. Candidates will safety move units around the warehouse or production facility to ensure timely and complete delivery. Candidates will manually or mechanically load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles. Candidates will scan units in appropriate location or other production data on tags or labels.

Requirements

The position is a rotating shift, Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m./ 3:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
Starting pay is $18.65/hour during the probationary period. Upon successful completion of probation, pay increases to $21.32/hour. Applicants must have a valid Driver’s License. The job involves the ability to communicate effectively with others, an understanding of WMS/RF scanning, moderate physical work and maintaining good attendance.

Machine Operator

The Lawrence Paper Company, a leading corrugated box manufacturer for over 125 years, is seeking applicants as machine operators in our growing Lawrence, KS facility. Desired candidates should be committed to teamwork and will have experience in a production environment.

Applicants must be self-motivated, safety and quality conscious, and able to trouble-shoot problems as they arrive. The ability to read a tape measure is required. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and computer skills is a plus. Applicants must be willing to work a rotating shift; day shift is 7:00AM to 3:30PM and evening shift from 3:30PM to midnight.

Responsibilities include physical work such as feeding machines, stacking units, and learning to operate machines that die cut, print, and glue corrugated paper.

Hourly pay rates start at $18/hour.

Qualified applicants will be expected to pass a drug test and a pre-employment physical.
